Dr. DeHeer,

Is there any advantage to placing the screw from proximal to distal as opposed to distal to proximal (the way I was taught) across the Austin osteotomy site? Do you make sure that there are no threads of the screw exposed plantarly, or merely that they are not protruding into the sesamoid apparatus? Thank you.
